What is Versus?
Versus is a free Chrome extension that compares Amazon products side by side. It pulls in price, ratings, shipping, and uses AI to summarize reviews into clear pros and cons — so you can pick the right product without opening twenty tabs.
How does it work?
Open the products you’re considering in separate Amazon tabs. Click the Versus icon, then Compare. We detect the products, group them, and build a side-by-side view with AI-generated review summaries and a verdict.
Which Amazon stores are supported?
All major Amazon marketplaces: amazon.com, .co.uk, .de, .ca, .in, .co.jp, .fr, .es, .it, and .com.au. If yours is missing, send a note via Feedback and we’ll add it.
Is Versus free?
Yes. No account, no sign-up, no usage limits. We may add premium features later, but the core comparison flow will stay free.
Do you store my browsing or purchase data?
No. Product data is processed in your browser session and the small AI requests we run for review summaries do not include personal information. See the Privacy page for the full breakdown.
How accurate are the AI review summaries?
We use frontier reasoning models to extract recurring themes from real customer reviews. They’re a great starting point, but you should still skim a few reviews yourself before a big purchase.
Can I share a comparison?
Yes. Click “See on web” in the popup to save the comparison and copy a shareable link (shop-versus.com/?id=…). Anyone can open it in a browser — no extension required.
Will you support other retailers?
Possibly. We’re focused on getting the Amazon experience right first. Tell us which retailer you want via Feedback and we’ll prioritize based on demand.
Why doesn’t Versus see the product I just opened?
Make sure you’re on the product detail page (the URL contains /dp/ or /gp/product/), then click the Versus icon. If it still doesn’t show up, refresh the tab once and try again.
How do I uninstall it?
Right-click the Versus icon in your Chrome toolbar and choose “Remove from Chrome.” That’s it — nothing left behind.
